Ratherbie is an apparel brand in Covington, GA.

Inspired by The Vampire Diaries and all things supernatural, I built Ratherbie Apparel with roots in Covington, Georgia—the iconic filming location of the series and a town that’s been part of my family’s story for nearly a century. I launched the brand in June 2024 with a desire to support the Downtown Square, celebrate the fandoms that keep it alive, and create apparel that feels expressive, nostalgic, and wearable. Think relaxed, bohemian pieces with vintage charm and just enough edge to feel like fandom—without looking like a costume.

I’m Courtney, founder and creative director of Ratherbie. I bring over 20 years of experience in art direction and design and currently work full-time as a creative director in advertising and marketing. Alongside my professional career, I lead founder-driven creative projects rooted in storytelling and community.
I live in “Mystic Falls” with my husband and kids, and while I wasn’t living in Covington during filming, I was just over in Athens, Georgia—close enough to witness The Vampire Diaries being filmed on location. I also partner with Home Suite Salvatore and HSS Presents as creative director, collaborating on visual storytelling and fan experiences connected to Covington and its fandom.

Most of what I create happens right here in “Mystic Falls” (Covington, Georgia). I offer a mix of brand staples and limited drops, with some items available for pre-order and others ready to ship. Certain pieces are made in small batches, which can mean slightly longer lead times—but getting your order to you quickly is always the goal.
Community matters to me. I love collaborating with other small businesses whenever possible and believe that supporting one another is essential to building something lasting. Giving back is just as important, which is why I occasionally release fundraiser pieces to help support causes like hurricane, flood, and wildfire relief.
